Annual Impact Report – 2019/20

22 Feb 2021

The Brilliant Club is delighted to release its Annual Impact Report for 2019/20.

Across The Scholars Programme, Researchers in Schools and other special projects, the charity worked with over 9,000 pupils, in over 550 schools and with 43 partner universities in 2019/20. 93 participants were enrolled on the Researchers in Schools programme, and 324 PhD tutors delivered The Scholars Programme. 86% of the pupils we worked with fulfilled at least one of our three targeting criteria.

Programme delivery, tutor training and RIS Development Days were moved online as a response to the Coronavirus crisis, and the charity became a Tuition Partner of the National Tutoring Programme through the newly formed Brilliant Tutoring Programme.

The report features the new Brilliant Club ambassadors and showcases the randomised controlled trial (RCT) carried out with the University of Cambridge. This RCT showed that pupils who take part in The Scholars Programme report significantly higher levels of self-efficacy for university-style learning, compared to pupils who did not take part in the programme.

You can read about all this, and how The Brilliant Club continues to work in pursuit of its mission, to increase the number of pupils from underrepresented backgrounds progressing to highly-selective universities, in the report.
