EEF Capability Building Project in partnership with ImpactEd Group

26 Mar 2025

We are pleased to share that we are working with ImpactEd Group on an Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) Capability Building Project.

In January, ImpactEd Group announced their partnership with the EEF to deliver capability-building support for scaling evidence-based education programmes. This work, part of the Department for Education’s (DfE) Accelerator Fund initiative, focuses on equipping organisations with the tools and strategies needed to address common challenges in scaling educational interventions.

As part of this partnership, The Brilliant Club is providing tailored support to grantees in the 2024/25 academic year in the following priority areas:

By addressing these areas, we aim to support programme teams in navigating the complexities of scaling, while ensuring evidence-based practices continue to deliver meaningful impact for pupils and schools.

So far, we have supported grantees to assess their level of digital maturity and how technology can be used to streamline operational efficiencies, enhance data quality, and support scalable engagement as the programmes expand. We have also conducted workshops as part of ImpactEd Group’s Impact and Sustainability Series focused on how to successfully move programmes online and how to use technology to support scale. We will continue to work with the EEF and grantees across this academic year on these priority areas.

Dr Lauren Bellaera, Chief Impact and Strategy Officer at The Brilliant Club, said: “The Brilliant Club is excited to be supporting the EEF’s capability-building work in partnership with ImpactEd Group. For this project, we are drawing on our experience of scaling education programmes and evaluating impact. Since the charity was established in 2011, we have supported over 150,000 young people and we look forward to helping other evidence-based programmes so that they can have a positive impact on more children and educational settings.”

Dr Rajbir Hazelwood, Managing Director (ImpactEd Consulting) at ImpactEd Group, said: “We believe it is crucial to work together across the sector to tackle shared challenges, and this project is a great example of that in action. We are delighted to be partnering with The Brilliant Club, bringing together expertise to support organisations in meaningful and sustainable ways. We know that The Brilliant Club’s expertise in digital will be invaluable in supporting grantees to use technology to scale their impact effectively.”

Amy Clark, Head of Programme Development and Scale-up at EEF, said: “We are delighted to be working with ImpactEd Consulting and The Brilliant Club on this critical scheme to support EEF evaluated programmes to scale and benefit more settings and children. We expect this work to support the reach of evidenced programmes during Accelerator Fund, and have a long lasting legacy beyond the fund period.”
