12 May 2025

The event will be a roundtable discussion between the communities we work with to improve university access for less advantaged students. The event is on 12th June 2025 from 1pm-2pm and everyone is welcome.

To reflect on Social Mobility Day (June 12th), we’re hosting a virtual roundtable discussion all are welcome to join, bringing together speakers from key communities to share their stories on university access and social mobility.

Event attendees will hear from one of our student ambassadors, a Brilliant Club tutor, a parent from our East London Parent Power chapter, and Councillor Shaid Mushtaq, Oldham Council Cabinet Member for Children and Young People.

The roundtable discussion will tackle the key question: How can we shift mindsets on university access to support social mobility?

We have chosen this topic in line with the theme of Social Mobility Day 2025 to #ShiftMindsets. Participants in the day are encouraged to “share the instances that challenged perceptions, changed paths, and redefined possibilities. Moments that opened doors, shattered stereotypes, or proved that background should never be a barrier”. This is very much in line with our mission to help less advantaged students access the most competitive universities and succeed when they get there.

Whether you’re already a part of our mission to improve university access for less advantaged students, or are new to what we do at The Brilliant Club, we welcome you to come along and Join The Club!
