The Scholars Programme in the South West

Since 2018, we have worked with over 5,000 young people in the South West of England, in over 100 schools. Pupils have studied a variety of topics beyond the curriculum, including ‘AI Perception and Trust: Should we trust how robots move, see and fail?’, ‘How do DNA defects cause cancer?’, and ‘How Catholic nuns are portrayed in modern art’.

Pupils in the South West have made 25% progress in critical thinking and 24% progress in written communication, measured through assessment before and after the programme.

One pupil from the region said: “I definitely think The Scholars Programme has helped me improve my writing skills and overall academic skills in general. It’s been interesting to learn about a topic I probably wouldn’t have touched on and it will help me stand out from other students in the future!”

What does The Scholars Programme offer?
