By supporting The Brilliant Club, Trusts and Foundations drive social mobility through the power of education and create equal opportunities for young people in the UK.

Why support The Brilliant Club

We are so grateful to our Trust and Foundation partners, who have enabled us to create opportunities for disadvantaged students that have had a significant impact on their ability to access university.

By supporting The Brilliant Club, Trusts and Foundations drive social mobility through the power of education and create equal opportunities for young people in the UK. Our five-year strategy, Join the Club, aims to scale our university access programmes to support 100,000 students to access the most competitive universities and enable 10,000 students to achieve successful university outcomes by 2026.

If we succeed in reaching these goals, we can achieve systemic impact, and make a lasting difference for young people in the UK. We estimate that at this rate of growth, by the end of the decade, 1 in 10 state school students accessing competitive universities will be a graduate of The Scholars Programme.

Impact

The Brilliant Club has proven impact to increase university access for less advantaged students, and is building its evidence base in student success.

As a supporter, you will receive robust impact reports as well as opportunities to visit our programmes.

Attainment

Our evaluation shows that The Scholars Programme raises attainment at GCSE. Students with average attainment at the end of primary school who participated in The Scholars Programme in Year 10 were twice as likely to achieve 9-5 in their maths and English GCSEs than peers from their local authority with similar prior attainment.

University Access

For seven consecutive years, independent evaluation with UCAS has shown that Scholars Programme graduates progress to competitive universities at a higher rate than other students from similar backgrounds.

Student Success

Our student success programme, Join the Dots, has been found to have a positive impact on all three intermediate outcomes we look at: self-efficacy, study strategy use, and sense of belonging. These all support the long-term outcomes we expect to see, i.e. for students to continue into second year of university and complete their degree course with a strong degree.
