In many areas where opportunities are limited, parents feel let down by institutions and powerless to enact change for themselves, their family or community.
In a world of misinformation and mistrust of institutions, it is essential that parents have access to trustworthy information that shines a light on the education pathways available for their children.
Since 2021, The Brilliant Club has been scaling Parent Power, originally developed by Citizens UK and King’s College London, across the UK.
Parent Power equips parents and carers with the tools and knowledge to support their child’s journey through education and provides invaluable guidance on accessing university. Trained community organisers work closely with parents and carers to build a relationship of trust.
They support parents to campaign against educational inequalities and create positive change for their children and local community, acting as champions for higher education.
Parent Power is targeted at those who may not feel comfortable navigating the university admissions system, including those who have no experience of higher education themselves.
Communities Consulting is a new arm of our established Brilliant Consulting practice, and is led by our Director of Communities, Jimmy Pickering. Jimmy has extensive experience of building educational communities across the UK.
