Our students got taken out of their academic comfort zones and were challenged in a way that saw them finish the programme not only with improved skills and knowledge, but with improved self-belief. The standard of PhD researchers who come and work with our children, the nature of the topics the children engage in, I think it would be a missing piece in our school if it wasn’t there… for myself and a lot of the staff, it reconnects us with academia, and that thrill of new learning that we had at university. We keep coming back to The Brilliant Club and it embeds that in part of our school culture, and I think it’s now an expectation of our students and of our parents, that this is part of a rite of passage for our students.
